Being born to you, your baby takes you to a new world with new changes to undergo by your body and your life. It is a life changing experience indeed, for all new moms. This welcomes you with hormonal changes of course, which are usually not invited at all but are the first visitors, when the new life is born to you. 
The level of your hormones estrogen and progesterone forms their peak during the gestation period and falls down by the parturition. This develops your bond with your baby with a high rise of the bonding hormone oxytocin. This fluctuating hormonal levels usually disturbs the new moms with lot of mood swings and depression. The postpartum depression (PPD) and the postpartum thyroiditis is very common and your body needs actual care because you become tender for at least six major weeks after your child is born. Remember, how your mothers used to take care of you when your child was born? Now it is time for your daughters today. Wow ! what an experience. 
These postpartum changes may also welcome diabetes in some cases but you need to be very careful to watch out your health with A HEALTHY DIET.  Well, these problems when triggered usually gives signs and symptoms followed by anxiety, weight loss, fatigue, weakness and much more. Out of all, PPD is more common in most of the women and dem,and special care and attention. Such new moms may feel emotional broken, want to keep crying and become hopeless. It is time you need actual cheer up sessions with your family and involve them with you. Ask for help by stating what exactly you want from them
Your body might also suffer temporary problems like constipation or varicose veins in legs , hair loss, stretch marks, dry skin, patches , enlarged breasts (active mammary glands), weakness in arms and legs. It is time not to worry and follow healthy practices to be and keep your baby healthy. 

The post natal time is the most critical yet beautiful period of mom's life as it keeps you bonded with your little one and gives memories of the beautiful period you went through. It becomes an essential factor to watchout the diet you consider for yourself as it will directly load its effect on your neonate. Consuming maximum amount of vegetables and fruits is always recommended during this beautiful post natal care sessions of six week for the new moms. Since the internal parts like uterus needs time to shrink back to its normal size while letting yourself to gain strength and energy. Almonds are a very good choice of dry fruit you can add to your diet for healthy development of the new born.
The more you intake fluids in the form of juice, soups, water etc, the better is the reach of healthy diet for both of you.  Adding protein sources like pulses, legumes, beans in a more dilute form is a good option to gain the required strength by the new moms. Milk production is important during the lactation period so highly recommended food add-ons includes fennel seeds, oats, fenugreek, moong dal, garlic, cumin seeds and edible gum. 

The hormonal changes usually promotes cravings for unhealthy snack intake during this period which should be substituted with healthy protein rich sources of snacks or food during this time. 
The black chickpea can be boiled well and diluted for a snack time drink. The light dal like moong and masoor can be right choice during this lactation period. 
The legumes nd pulses are also iron rich which is highly recommended for the new moms during the lactation period. Heavy doses of protein should also be kept in check as it might affect the neonate's health. 
Flax seeds and walnuts will help to increase the DHA in breast milk which is essential for baby's brain development and growth. In India, panjeeri is usually prepared with added flax seeds, edible gum, almonds and walnuts to provide warmth to the mother and the new born. 
Right choice of food encourages good mood, freedom from postpartum depression and promotes healthy child growth. 
Unhealthy snacks with high sugar and carbs should be avoided completely at this time to avoid gaining extra load of fat or which encourages PPD.  Caffeine rich drinks can be left free during the lactation period as it may hamper the baby's sleep hours and cause a chaos. Citrus fruits and other citrus rich food should be avoided if the baby seems to spit their meal often. Spices are a complete no at this time. Cruciferous vegetables usually termed as 'gassy vegetables' like cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli  can be ignored for some time.  If you observe blood in your baby's stool then a must avoid for initiates towards eggs, wheat and milk. 
Deep fried, processed, preserved and sugary food should be bid a goodbye at this time. 
ALCOHOL & DRUGS is a big NO NO for all the lactating mothers. 
Always take expert advice from your doctor or a paediatrician for your baby's wellness.  
The right choice of food will promote righteousness in your baby's growth and regain of your health. 
Mother's milk is healthy for the baby and is highly recommended for at least six months. 
The mother's body takes about a period of six months to become normal, reduce pain, farewell weakness in arms & legs, routine their menstrual cycle and get ready mentally for any other changes or schedule. 
Take care of yourself and all the new moms in your close contact for a healthy you and society.
