Time to get ready for the changes of being an expecting mother begins at four weeks and starts the first trimester of the gestational period.

The first trimester shows the ongoing changes in the women's body which actually matter with the developing embryo. The embryo is the growing body inside you during the first trimester.
Bodily  changes inside and out also triggers your hormones which thereby effect your mood and behavior. It is essential for each one to understand their partner's taste, mood and behavior during this crucial time to accept the ongoing changes and help mother and child to grow and feel good. Happiness is key to health and this the time of a women's life to be happy and accept support along with endless care and pamper.

The time is very crucial during the first few weeks. The neural tube develops on the top layer of the embryo from which the brain , backbone, spinal cord and nerves develops out.
The heart and blood vessels develop out from the middle layer of the embryo. The urinary system, lungs, and intestine grow from the third layer of the embryo.
The embryo is too small but still shows growth of organs for future development.
The embryo has an over-sized head by the seventh week and shows limb development as well.
The nutrient supplying umbilical cord is connected to you and imagine it being a connection between you and your baby.
By the end of the first trimester the heart shows development of the four chambers with the valves start to form.
A clear outline of the spine can be visibly seen of your little one inside you if you go for an ultrasound scan.
Bones form which tend to become stronger with time. Although you cannot feel but by this time of approximately eleven weeks the baby starts moving inside the amniotic fluid. By the end of the twelfth week the little embryo now resembles more of like a human and will be called a fetus.
A very important time for a women is when she need to provide proper nourishment to the developing embryo inside her during the first trimester.

Adding three meals and approximately two snack time with nutritious and tasty food choices can be a good option one can follow during this period of  ongoing changes accompanied by the embryo growth.
The best choice of food to add on to your diet is to eat what you feel to or your body urges you to do so.
The suggest diet may include proteins essentially since it is most required for the embryo growth. The muscle and bones develop fast and the uterine tissue growth of the expecting mother. Cottage cheese, eggs, peanut butter could be good option for the essential protein intake.
Spinach can become an essential source of folic acid. Broccoli, green peas, tomatoes, bell peppers, sweet potato are other good options to try for embryo growth and development.
Fruits can also be taken as a choice for the snack hours. Guava, cherries, pomegranate, apple, pear, banana are selective good choice of food. Consuming dairy products which may include low fat milk, curd and yogurt are also healthy for the expectant and growing embryo.

Few choices are meant to be avoided such as raw/under cooked eggs, fish due to its high mercury content, unpasteurized milk, eggplant, papaya, excess caffeine, alcohol, black grapes, excess sugar or sugar rich food.
A substitute can also be selected for maintaining body weight. Likewise fried food can be substituted with the baked ones. Ice cream can be substituted with yogurt.
